End Table Refurb!!

I got this table at a garage sale for $3!!! Once again, Tyler was not impressed but I think I did a pretty good job.  Tyler even says that it is his favorite thing I've done!!! Here are some pics!
This is before any work was done! Pretty Ugly!!

These are the doors!

You can see why Tyler was not impressed!!

All painted red! Much better!

Well except we put longer legs on so it would stand a little taller.

This is what mine and Linzi's feet looked like when we were done!! Haha

Linzi and I worked very hard!! I definitely look like it anyways!!

LONGEST WEEK EVER!!!!!!!!

This week school started and it was the longest week of my life!!! Monday I, literally, could not feel my feet!!! I think I had Tyler a little worried when I sent him a text saying exactly that!! But seriously, my whole body was exhausted!!! I think it was Rhett saying, "Hey mom, I don't like this work thing!"  haha! The rest of the week has gone by sooooo slow.  It seems that every day it gets harder and harder to drag myself out of bed! TGIF!

This year my class is the same size as last year (20), but for some reason it feels much much bigger!! They all seem so small and need so much help!! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my job, but the first couple of weeks are always so stressful trying to get them in a routine.  I will admit, each day the daily routines became smoother but we still need work!

Another thing that got started this week was school sports for Linzi!  I was so excited and a little sad that she is in 7th grade and playing sports at school.  Already on Monday, she started the practicing/trying-out process for volleyball.  There were 33 7th grade girls trying out.  Only 10 girls would make the A team and 10 girls would make the B team.  On Wednesday, I was so excited when my mom called and told me Linzi made the A team!  She had her first scrimmage last night and she was so thrilled to be playing.  I can't believe she is becoming so grown-up.  Here are some pics of the game and Linzi.

Waiting for a serve!

Getting in position!

Linzi, Me and Rhett!! haha
I can't believe she is old enough for school sports!!!

Back to School!!!

For the past two weeks, I have been working frantically and non-stop to get my room and myself ready for the new school year.  It has been crazy.  I am totally exhausted and cannot believe how fast the Summer went.  It took me all of the two weeks but I can finally say I am ready for the first day.

Rhett Ervin Dudley- 22 weeks and ready for school! lol

Two days before I went back to work, a friend at church offered me a bath tub.  I have always wanted one and so I had to say yes, of course.  Needless to say, Tyler was not a happy camper about having to move it around in my room. When I first got it, it was an awful pink color!  I painted it black and now it looks amazing.  At open house, the bath tub was a huge success.  It is what all the kids were talking about!  Here are some pics.

Before
All Black!

And again!
One leg is red!

The Finished Product!  It looks so cute in my classroom!!!

My Day at School!!!

Today, I spent most of the day working in my classroom.  I was struggling to come up with something for my "smiley face" door, so I asked Tyler for suggestions.  He suggested a football player with the words " Welcome to the team!"  So that is what I did.  My mom and Linzi helped me, too.  I also finished my "helpers" bulletin board! Here are some pics of my semi-creative abilities!!! LOL

A Chair Transformed!

A few months ago, a couple girls I work with and I went garage sale shopping.  I found the cutest chair (well not yet) and I got it for only $10! Of course, Tyler didn't approve of it at all!  My plan was to immediately get started on re-upholstering it.  But instead, I let it sit in the dining room until this past week.  About every week, Tyler would come home from work and say, "Are you gonna do anything with that chair?" I would quickly chime back with, "I'll do it next week!" Of course, I did not do it the next week.  It took threatening from Tyler to finally get me motivated to work on it!  Ray and Monica were coming in 5 days and Tyler told me I had that long to get it done or it was going in the dumpster.  So, I got my butt in gear and finished it in two days!! Needless to say, I was pretty impressed with myself! It turned out so cute and I think it will be a great addition to Rhett's room!!

No more ugly green and blue fabric!!
The back is covered!

One side is finished! It's already looking better! :)

Only the two front pieces left!! AAAH

All done!  And looking very cute, if I do say so myself!!!

Blogging...starting out sloooow!!!

This morning (per request by Grace), I decided to start a blog.  This is everyone's forewarning! I am not a writer, I don't make clever jokes and I will probably misuse and misspell tons of stuff!!!

So, with that said, getting started was way more frustrating than I had anticipated! I consider myself a perfectionist and getting my blog to look exactly how I wanted it was extremely nerve racking.  I literally worked on it from ten this morning until just before this post! Needless to say, it is not perfect, but it will do!

Grace also requested belly pictures so here is the first of more to come!
Rhett Ervin Dudley- approximately 19 weeks!
